Due to survey flights at our Neuburg an der Donau airfield and Lechfeld airfield, there will be increased flight operations with modified approach procedures at irregular intervals. These approaches at increased speed will then lead to a temporary increase in noise pollution, which will last for about half an hour on the days in question and will primarily be noticeable for the Neuburg an der Donau airfield in the towns of Karlshuld and Marienheim. For the Lechfeld airfield, higher noise pollution is to be expected in the towns of Königsbrunn, Klosterlechfeld and Kaufering. Depending on the weather, an attempt is made to keep the approach corridors as variable as possible in order to distribute the loads that occur as well as possible. These flights will only take place outside the lunch break from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The background to these flights is the required calibration of individual components of the navigation system of each individual Eurofighter with reference to Neuburg an der Donau airfield and Lechfeld airfield. Therefore, these flights cannot be operated at another airport.
All Eurofighters stationed at Neuburg an der Donau airfield must complete these calibration flights. The same is happening at all other Eurofighter airfields.
According to current planning, no measurement flights will be carried out in the 7th calendar week (02/14/2022 - 02/18/2022).
