Fashion Week in Berlin is over, but the trends of the fashion week remain. Luckily, because the designers and influencers had a lot to offer when it came to style. In addition to cycling shorts, pastel-colored suits and western boots, one accessory in particular caught our eye: the statement belt with an inscription!
Rebekka Ruétz made the start. On the catwalk of the Austrian designer, the belt, which was converted into a belt, became THE it-piece par excellence. Sometimes wider, sometimes narrower, but always in bright colors and with strong slogans, it adorned the waists of the models.
And off the runway, too, the statement belt is becoming the new trend accessory. Style icons and influencers such as Annette Weber or Marina the Moss no longer leave the house without and style them elegantly with a blazer, cool with a trench coat or casually with an oversized sweater.
In contrast to simple leather belts, when combining it with the statement belt, you need to be sensitive. So that the look doesn't look like hardware store chic, we recommend classic styles made of high-quality materials and clean cuts. It gives a pants suit or midi dress a cool upgrade in no time.
Restraint is also required with the other accessories. Large pieces of jewellery, eye-catching bags or the beloved bling-bling shoes should stay in the closet with this look.
We couldn't live without it last year - and fortunately we don't have to in 2019 either. Animal prints are here to stay. However, while Leo celebrated its big comeback in 2018, the look is now being replaced by python prints.
If this style is a bit too wild for you, you can let off steam in the pastel department instead. Whether candy pink, baby blue, pale yellow or mint green – candy colors also make a big impression, preferably in the form of power suits. We think: These are good prospects for the year.
