Remote Work: 25-year-old explains how to give up your 8-hour day

When I completed the university in June 2014, I was unsettled and didn't know what to do, so I applied for tons of jobs in my area. One of the jobs I applied for was abroad at an environmental company.I was hired and started an adult life that I appreciated every day anew.

Without this work, I would never have tried fresh oranges in Seville, learned Spanish, opened myself to a completely new culture, played with live shows, made street music with my ukulele in various cities in Europe and looked at a football game in the Bernabéu Stadium.

That was my first experience as a digital nomade when I worked for 35 hours a week to a fair salary.

Then I founded my own environmental agency for advertising texts. It was almost two years ago since I dared to jump - from an outdoor employee to a local advisor. In this way it was possible for me to follow other dreams.

Here are some of the challenges:

My conclusion:

My personal experience was wonderful.I have not experienced many of the disadvantages myself and if so, then they didn't pull me down particularly. There were some terrible moments like my girlfriend's separation when my cat died at home, or when I went broke and had to live like a monk for seven months after I had started my own business until I had enough money again.

What I learned the most about myself is that I love more to live in other cultures than to be a nomade. My current task in the Czech Republic takes three to four months, but I can stay for a year if I want it.
