No more fires at the dam - Bautzener Bote

What could be nicer than ending a wonderful summer's day on the banks of the Bautzen dam? People in a good mood, a cool drink, a barbecue, a little fire, ... At least visitors have to do without the fire and the barbecue from now on. The reason is the persistent drought and the associated extremely high risk of forest fires. The investment and operating company Bautzen mbH (BBB) ​​points out that the two fireplaces in the area of ​​the beach promenade may no longer be used with immediate effect and that they will no longer be equipped with firewood until further notice.

In this context, it is expressly pointed out that open fires and the use of grills outside the fireplaces are prohibited anyway. This not only applies to the areas along the beach promenade, but also in particular to the areas between Gesundbrunnen and the campsite, including the nudist area. Especially here the danger is many times higher, since large forest areas are directly adjacent. The security service at the dam will pay special attention to this in the coming days. He is instructed to point out violations immediately and to initiate measures if necessary.

Good-humoured people and cool drinks are still allowed.
