At around 7:00 a.m., a 36-year-old man drove in a Peugeot in the middle lane of the federal autobahn 5 in the direction of Kassel. Apparently without paying attention to the traffic, the Peugeot driver switched to the left lane and overlooked the Mitsubishi of a 23-year-old. A collision ensued, pushing the Mitsubishi against the central concrete sliding wall. Two police vehicles and a 33-year-old in a VW could not brake in time and drove into the Peugeot. The 36-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
