He's good at dishing out, but is lacking when it comes to receiving. After the British presenter and journalist Piers Morgan rumbled on his morning show "Good Morning Britain" that he would not believe Duchess Meghan's reports of depression, he received criticism from his colleague. Co-host Alex Beresford said on live TV that Morgan only has such a big problem with Meghan because she dumped him years ago. The 55-year-old then stormed out of the television studio and gave up his job.
He has instigated a "relentless campaign of lies and hatred" against her, she wrote. At that time it was about the death of presenter Caroline Flack and the fact that Jamil had criticized one of Flack's TV shows in the past for body shaming. Morgan took this as an opportunity to drag Jamil through the mud.
Comparatively harmless was his online quarrel with J.K. Rowling. After she shared a clip of Morgan being told by an Australian comedian to "fuck off," he replied, "That's why I haven't read a single word from 'Harry Potter'." He also took on model Chrissy Teigen on Twitter, sarcastically considering that he could "do a real job, like modeling." Teigen, known for her quick wit, replied, "It keeps me nice and not racist, so sure, give it a try."
Morgan doesn't have a good hair on Kim Kardashian either. Again and again he pulls in his "Daily Mail" articles about the Kardashian family, calling them "greedy" and "stupid". When Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and model sister Kendall Jenner recently promoted a campaign together in bikinis, he wrote, "If I were Kim and Kylie I would stop posing with Kendall," implying that Kendall is better in shape than her sisters.
He accused Ariana Grande of selling her albums with nudity. About Lady Gaga and Madonna, he said on Twitter that the two would lie if they said they were victims of sexual violence. "I know numerous soldiers with PTSD, it's a very serious matter. I also know people who claim to have it but clearly don't have it," he wrote on Twitter. Apparently he later regretted the tweet and apologized to Gaga.
He called model Emily Ratajkowski a "global bimbo" on "Good Morning Britain" and criticized her for staging herself naked. Ratajkowski then countered: “Telling women what to do with their bodies and their sexuality is actually just classic sexism. I can have opinions on feminism and also do sexy photo shoots – thanks.” A pointed response that prompted Morgan to send five more hateful tweets against the 29-year-old. He ironically called Emma Watson the "most virtuous actress of all time" after Watson staged herself in the Pirelli calendar.
When Susan Sarandon wore a plunging gown at the 2016 SAG Awards, Morgan called her "cheap" and "attention-seeking." Sarandon responded with a picture of herself in a bra and wrote, "Today's post is dedicated to Piers Morgan."
Hardly anyone has received as much hate as Duchess Meghan. The two were even friendly to each other before Markle met Prince Harry and broke contact with Morgan and his hatred began. Apparently, he never got over the fact that she didn't invite him to the 2018 Royal Wedding and he had to watch the ceremony on TV instead.
He called her "shameless", "reckless", "whiny" and "selfish" and nicknamed her "Me Me Meghan". "Good Morning Britain" will now have to do without the moderator and with it his sexist sayings. Is that a loss? If you ask his many enemies, the answer is most likely no.
