"A little Latin was spoken and apparently I have a degree now." Human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai (24) is happy about her graduation from Oxford on Instagram. There she studied philosophy, politics and economics.
The 24-year-old shared pictures of her graduation ceremony, which was originally scheduled to take place in May 2020, according to British media reports. Because of the corona pandemic, it had been postponed to autumn 2021. In the pictures, Malala wears a black robe and hat and is surrounded by family and friends.
Two weeks ago, Malala Yousafzai also announced via social media that she got married. Today marks "a precious day in my life," she wrote alongside several photos from the wedding ceremony. On Instagram, the 24-year-old shared two snapshots of herself and her husband Asser in festive clothes in front of an autumn landscape. On her Twitter account, in addition to the same shots, there are two more that also include Yousafzai's parents. The photos capture the moment of the marriage, which took place in her adopted city of Birmingham, England.
"Asser and I tied the knot to be life partners," the young woman, originally from Pakistan, commented on her post. She and her husband are "excited" to embark on the "journey that lies ahead of us together."
