Fans of "The Voice of Germany" have to be prepared for a surprise in the semifinals next Sunday: moderator and fan favorite Thore Schölermann will not be on the show. The moderator revealed this at the end of the last broadcast.
The reason for his absence is a nice one: "You will be there again next Sunday, unfortunately I won't - because I will be a dad and I would like to be with my wife," he explained at the end of the last show. He and his wife Jana Schölermann published on Instagram in July that they were expecting children for the first time. "Estimated time of arrival: December 2021," the post said. Your dog will no longer be an "only child".
In addition to Schölermann, his co-moderator Lena Gercke usually leads through the program. Gercke is happy about the good reason for her colleague's absence: "That's also the best reason not to come." It is still unclear whether the 33-year-old will moderate the semifinals alone or whether there will be a replacement for Schölermann. The broadcaster was initially unable to answer a corresponding request from the news agency "spot on news".
The semi-finals and finals of the current season of "The Voice of Germany" can be seen on Sat.1 on the next two Sundays (December 12 and 19) at 8:15 p.m.
