Nike is one of those really big brands in modern society, which is not only known for its own fields of activity. The sporting goods manufacturer was also seen in "Back to the Future II" - one of the cult films par excellence. Every geek knows that one self-lacing shoe that is now coming into the present of Christmas 2016 and will be available in stores.
When Marty McFly steps out of the DeLorean and puts on the Nike Air Mags sneakers provided by Doc Brown in Back to the Future II, it's one of those very special movie moments. The time when you think you want to have such shoes. Almost 30 years after the cult film about looking into the future, the self-lacing shoes are actually coming onto the market.
Even from Nike itself, because the company's research department has actually developed a sneaker with the HyperAdapt 1.0 model, the laces of which can be tied. The shoes too are still illuminated for an even more futuristic design is actually a minor matter in view of their independently lacing shoelaces.
It would be interesting to know whether the shoe has an integrated battery and how often you can use the automatic tying of the shoelaces before the shoe has to be put in its charging station - and whether you can optionally switch off the lighting.
It's exciting how Nike's engineers managed to "self-lace". The HyperAdapt 1.0 uses sensors integrated in the shoe to detect whether a foot is in the shoe, which in turn sets small coils in motion, which in turn tighten the laces. The laces can be adjusted as required using two buttons on the side of the shoe.

Rather, they want to continuously develop the model and they already have the first ideas for the next generations. Among other things, the developers are working on a solution that will allow the shoe to automatically recognize whether the laces should be tightened or loosened. A bit more future if you will.
In contrast to the film, the real model is based on the design of current fashion and has a less futuristic touch. A total of three different colors are available for those interested in buying and "Back to the Future" fans - as long as Nike reveals the official prices for the HyperAdapt 1.0 model. Because this is exactly what the group has left open. Especially since the circle of people who are entitled to buy is very limited: If you are not a member of the Nike+ network, you are not allowed to buy the shoe.
