What do retail salespeople hate the most? From my own experience at a well-known clothing brand, I know that apart from messy customers, it's the returns. They always mean long discussions at the checkout, for example if the receipt is missing and longer waiting times for other customers. A TikTok video takes a sideways look at the returns issue and reveals a trick the Adidas brand reportedly would rather not say out loud...
The TikToker @joshrinconn reveals a trick on how you can return long-worn Adidas shoes even after months if they are damaged. According to him, all you need is two things: a photo of the label and a picture of the defect.
In his video he recreates a dialogue between a buyer and a seller. The buyer wants to return his shoes after three months because they are showing their first defects. The seller wants to send it away first and says that he needs proof of purchase for this. However, the customer knows: At Adidas you can return products within six months – even without a receipt.
In fact, this information can also be found on the Adidas website. The indirect statement by the TikToker that Adidas prefers to keep this information secret is therefore meaningless.
The website states: "If you wish to make use of your warranty, please contact us and provide us with photos clearly showing the defect and the article number (6-digit sequence of numbers or letters on the product label) and if necessary the product available.”
The article number can be found on the label of the shoe, which is best photographed immediately after purchase so that you can still refer to the number even after it has faded. This way you can be sure that you can also take advantage of the six-month guarantee. You should also note that goods can only be returned in the country and/or store where you bought the item. Did you already know about this guarantee at Adidas?
