The new Fierce catches the eye because of its attractive looks. And if you take a closer look at the Fierce (German for "wild") and read how manufacturer 361° describes it on its website, you feel reminded of popular running shoe models that are also popular in everyday life due to their attractive appearance and comfort. such as Adidas Ultraboost or Nike Pegasus. In this respect, it is a remarkable new product that 361° is now presenting just in time for the running spring.

A cheap Adidas Ultraboost?

All the typical characteristics of this shoe category can be found in the Fierce: the voluminous, well-cushioning midsole, the comfortable upper material, the lack of additional stabilization elements and the narrow heel end. And of course the appealing look. In the case of the Fierce, it jumps on the retro trend of recent years.

The biggest difference between the Fierce and similar models from the big brands is the price: the shoe is available from 361° for 109.99 euros (recommended retail price). That's a whopping 70 euros less than the Adidas Ultraboost. The Fierce is also relatively inexpensive compared to other 361° models.

A rather hard running feeling

The 361° Fierce surprised during the first test run. In view of its high midsole, which contains a lot of "Quik-Spring+" cushioning material, you would expect a softer feeling when walking. But the Fierce doesn't offer that. On the contrary: the shoe is surprisingly tight. This makes it an exciting alternative for runners who don't like that super-soft "marshmallow" feeling of some other cushioning shoes.

According to the manufacturer, the Fierce is also "the perfect shoe for endurance runs and competitions". Here, however, it must be said clearly that there are significantly more suitable models for this purpose. At 279 grams (men's model, US size 9), the Fierce is no lightweight. For comparison: most current lightweight trainers weigh 50 to 100 grams less. The rather thick, warm knitted upper material doesn't exactly invite you to run fast either.

Best suited for medium speeds and distances

Manufacturer The Fierce closes a gap in the 361° range and is suitable for a broad target group.

The Fierce can show off its qualities more at medium distances and speeds. It is better suited for runs from ten kilometers to half marathons. It's most fun at moderate pace or tempo change runs. The Fierce offers a certain degree of stability due to the high sole and the slightly supportive footbed, but there are no special elements for pronation control. If you want that, you are better off with the 361° Nemesis, for example.

Conclusion: price tip with a reduction in weight

With the Fierce, 361° has succeeded in expanding its product range in an interesting way. The model is suitable as an all-round training model for all runners who prefer a firmer running feeling, want to feel direct contact with the ground and do not need any additional stability elements. The Fierce is not very light, but the price is comparatively low and ensures a very good price-performance ratio.
